Mother's Day Heart

Don’t forget it’s Mother’s Day this Sunday!

And if you saw our blog regarding Valentine’s Day, you’ll probably know what we’re going to suggest is a better alternative to a bunch of flowers….trees!

Having scoured the internet for honest requests from mums around the world, it seems they all put value on spending time with their children or making memories/sharing experiences that last a lifetime, rather than receiving presents!

So this Sunday get the kids wrapped up warm, get your walking boots on, and either plant a tree or go walk around amongst them. Wherever you live, there’s bound to be either a bit of woodland or parkland open to the public thanks to The Woodland Trust, National Trust or your local Wildlife Trust.

If you like the idea of giving mum a gift that will grow with her, why not buy her a winter flowering shrub or small tree – lots of them are highly scented because they’re desperate to attract pollinators and many of them can be grown in a container. Both these attributes mean that you could plant her something in a pot that can be situated close to the door, so that she gets to appreciate it’s scent everytime she goes outside!

Here’s a short list of suitable plants that are quite easily available and every one of them is a stunner as far as perfume goes!:

Wishing mums everywhere a very Happy Mother’s Day this Sunday!
