Woodland Management

So, you own a woodland? Firstly, congratulations! What a marvellous opportunity you have to get involved with nature. However, with great trees, comes great responsibility! Woodland Management is something you’re going to have to consider – it won’t look after itself.

You may have to do a lot of work just to get it healthy again and you’re certainly going to need to put a lot of work in to manage it for the future.

The first thing we’d advise you to do is not panic – we can help.

You’re going to need to know about your woodland before you start doing anything and we can help you to identify:

  • what species your woodland contains
  • any pest or disease issues
  • any safety issues such as failing trees
  • what to keep/what to plant

Tree Heritage can produce a Woodland Management Plan for you, which will cover all these aspects and help you to keep your woodland healthy for years to come.

We’d also advise you to look at the information available on websites such as The Woodland Trust and The Small Woodland Owners Group.
